“When you work in education, you want to change lives,” said VC Barefield. “We have programs in tech, engineering, HVAC, automotive, so much more. We offer STEAM and STEM programs. Our students also have the opportunity to seamlessly transfer to 4-year colleges and universities.”
“You are offering people like veterans and people with low income a chance to advance in their life ,” said Mz Shyneka.
“We have a program called Future Ready, it is an opportunity where people can earn certifications in cyber security, software development, child development and there’s hundreds of programs that we, City Colleges of Chicago, offers. Our first registration is open now and classes start August 21. If you do miss that, we have a 12-week session that starts September 22, 2025. We encourage people to pursue what they love and make this change in your life,” said Vice Chancellor Barefield. “We have huge tech giants who furnish us with great tech for our students to use including SDI Presence and Apple at Truman’s Innovation One lab.”
